Musgrove Hospital in Taunton is the largest general hospital in Somerset and serves a population of 340,000. Charitable donations are used to support the work carried on at the hospital by purchasing services and equipment which would not otherwise be provided.

Story

Rory was (still is) our big brother. When he was first diagnosed with bone cancer he was taken directly to the Beacon Centre part of the Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton. He spent the next 2 months there and despite his prognosis, pain and inability to use his legs, the nurses, doctors and staff at the Beacon Centre were able to put a smile on his face and made the last few weeks of his life the most comfortable possible. The nurses in particular went the extra mile indulging him in late night kebabs and pizza (a particular soft spot of Rory's), always welcoming us - even outside of visiting hours, and have continued to keep in touch with our family.

It's hard to repay that sort of kindness but my sister and I are attempting to do just that by running 26.22 miles in Paris to raise money for the Beacon Centre and all their wonderful staff, whom rely heavily on public donations so that they can keep up their good work.

So if you can, please dig deep and donate anything possible. It really will be very much appreciated, plus we will allow you to point and laugh while we wobble around the Parisian course.
