Story

Fibromyalgia Action UK is a registered charity run primarily by volunteers. The majority are fibromyalgia sufferers who work extremely hard, despite their condition, in order to forward our shared cause. FMA UK was established to provide information and support to sufferers and their families. In addition, we provide medical information for health professionals, operate national helplines, online communities, and support a network of groups around the UK.We aim to encourage the NHS, Universities, and other parties to conduct new research projects. We will position ourselves at the centre of research projects from current and future researchers and ensure our community is involved and consulted. Fibromyalgia is a recognised chronic condition of widespread pain and profound fatigue. A common illness with an est. prevalence of 2.9% - 4.7%. The pain tends to be felt as diffuse aching or burning, often described as head to toe. It may be worse at some times than at others.
