On Sunday June 23rd, myself and 9 great friends will be paddling, plodding and pedalling some 35 miles across Worcestershire and a bit of Gloucestershire to raise money for St Richard’s Hospice. In his final few days, my Uncle Steve was cared for at SRH and we (and he) could not have asked for a better place for him to be. The care given by the staff was second to none and they moved us all with their compassion and attentiveness.
Our challenge may have been inspired by Steve but numerous team members have had friends and family members in SRH at some point and it’s a fair shout to say that most people in Worcester will have known someone in their care at some point. SRH rely entirely on donations and benefactors to fund their great work and this is why we’re taking on the challenge. We’ll do roughly 12 miles in the boat, on foot and in the saddle in the hope of raising a tidy sum and it promises to be a proper challenge so we need your help. Please give what you can and together, let’s make a small fortune for one of Worcester’s finest institutions.
