OCD Action's vision is of a society where Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is better understood and diagnosed quickly, where appropriate treatment options are open and accessible, where support and information are readily available and where nobody feels ashamed to ask for help.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Anyone that knows me knows I do not run. I wear heels not trainers, skirts not leggings. Therefore, this is a big challenge for me and shows how strongly I feel about this charity.

I also suffer from this condition so being around sweaty people and people touching their shoes, socks, feet is not going to be easy.

I have suffered from OCD for many years and I am also doing this run to raise awareness and to show you can still live a relatively 'normal' life. It is not something to be ashamed of. Unfortunately I have worked with people who do not understand and are unwilling to. However, I have also worked for some very supportive organisations and colleagues, who just excepted me for who I am.

I have managed to do the first week of the NHS Coach to 5k, so fingers crossed for the second.

OCD is a debilitating illness but is often seen as a joke. This charity supports the sufferers and their loved ones.
