Thanks for supporting my fundraising. I don’t normally tell people my problems because we all have them especially in these tough times and why should mine be any worse than anyone else’s. But I feel I need to do this hike along with my lovely wife to support me. I have throat Cancer, COPD, Type 1 Diabetes, Celiac disease to name a few problems and for me to hike 13 miles will be a monumental challenge. Not that many years ago I was training many local youngsters to play football and I was fit as a butchers dog. Prior to that I was in the Army hiking 50 miles with 25kilo strapped to my back and thinking nothing of it.. The point is we change none of us know what’s round the corner and Cancer can affect any of us at any time no one person has immunity................. At Macmillan, they give people with cancer everything they have got.
