Whilst everyone that knows me is aware that I’ve always been a keep fit fan, the idea of running more than 10km would have previously been a ‘non-starter’ for me. However, a chance meeting with Ali Durban, the inspirational founder of Gesher, a Pinner based specialist educational needs School, resulted in me agreeing to run the London Marathon on their behalf in a bid to raise much needed funds.  Gesher is an Ofsted Outstanding SEN school that provides a meaningful learning environment for children with special educational needs.

Being emotionally committed was the platform I needed to push myself harder than I ever have, and over the last 6 months I have found levels of dedication which have pushed me to nearly be ready to run the London Marathon. My training regime has meant extended periods away from my young family, to strict dietary schedules, and saying no to most of the Fun stuff in life.

I am aware that during the current times, digging deep will not come easy, but I would urge you to visit the Gesher website to truly understand the extent of what Ali’s team provides.
