Story

Earlier in September I lost my darling, angel of a best friend, Jasmine, to Low Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer after battling it like a warrior for almost six years. A devastatingly cruel journey having already overcome a full hysterectomy following borderline tumours as a teenager.

She was the light of my life and of the lives of everyone she met. I would have traded anything in the world to have been able to save her and I wish there was better/earlier detection readily available and more effective treatment for this type of cancer. She was so kind and giving and even in her darkest days she was still so passionate about spreading awareness for this awful disease.

To commemorate her, I'm joining thousands of others to Walk 100 Miles in October to support ovarian cancer research.

Ovarian cancer kills more women than all the other gynaecological cancers combined. In the UK over 50% of women are diagnosed at an advanced stage, drastically reducing their chances of survival.

There is currently no screening tool for ovarian cancer, symptoms are often unknown and research is underfunded.

But there is hope. Ovarian Cancer Action are working to change this. With ovarian cancer, early action can make all the difference. By supporting my challenge you'll help fund their lifesaving ovarian cancer research that will give women the best chance of survival.

Thank you for helping in any way you can. Jasmine would be so honoured xx
