Lorry, my sister was incredible... she's my best friend, my sister, my inspiration in everything I do. I am proud of who Lorry was, and proud of the support she gave her friends. She brought life to every one, with her smile, her humor, her hoodie with an arrow pointing saying 'I'm with Stupid.'

1st February, I went to visit Lorry in hospital, she made me laugh so much, attached to a drip, going for a stroll round the hospital, she already made friends with the nurses, and patients. Time to go, and I tucked my sister in bed, and stroked her head telling her ill see her tomorrow. I got in the car, I received a phone call from Lorry asking to speak to me, whilst she drifts off to sleep. I can still remember that conversation. We planned the next day visit, she apologized over and over again with putting me 'through this.' I told her she's my sister we will go through everything together. We laughed and slowly she was drifting off to sleep.

2nd February 2009, we received a phone call to say Lorry had passed away, this illness had taken her, I lost my heart my soul when I heard them words. Never has a day gone by where I have not thought about her, waking up thinking I'm going to see her.

Lorry Smiled and laughed till the day she passed away. I want to finish that finishing line not only will I be a sweaty mess, but I will be smiling and laughing because I have done this for Lorry.

I've been trying to do a run for BEAT but it proved harder and harder, finally I have got a place.

I'm running the Edinburgh Marathon 2020, on behalf of BEAT, but mainly my goal is to do it for Lorry, Alistar, Kate, and those who lost their lives to this illness. But also, those who fought this!! Who suffered with this illness for years.

This will be my Forth Marathon, The first marathon was dedicated for cancer McMillian in Paris. The second was Berlin where I ran for an incredible man who was battling prostate cancer. The third was just because I like to challenge myself haha... but this next one will be my own personal one, this is for my sister. I want her to be proud! <3 Also I get to take a trip to Edinburg haha :)

I have chosen to support BEAT  in Lorry’s memory.

As well as funding our support services which provide relief in the short term, your fundraising will also help Beat to equip teachers, health care professionals and others on the frontline of our communities to spot the early signs of eating disorders and know how to offer help.

Your fundraising will also help Beat to push for real change from government and the NHS as we continue to stress the need for easily accessible, good quality treatment for everyone who needs it.
