Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving Page.

As many of you may know, Gaby was born with a rare chromosome condition causing her to have global developmental delay and low muscle tone.  Due to both these factors, she has only just learnt to walk with the help of a walking frame in the last year.

Her school is organising for the whole school to take part in an inclusive walkathon and cycle.  All the children will be walking different lengths depending on their capability. Gaby is attempting to walk 10 metres!  (I will be standing at the finish line with a lot of cake and chocolate, encouraging her along!)

I know for many of us this may not seem like a big distance, but she only took her first steps last year at the age of 8.  This is a long journey for her, she will not be able to fully walk unsupported for many years to come (if ever).  For her and for her family, just taking part in a walkathon is a huge thing and something we thought would never happen.

The money Gaby raises will be going towards the school charity Friends of Grangewood, which helps support all the children in the school.

Gaby and her family would be grateful for any donation you are able to give and Thankyou for your support!
