Story
Our oceans have been negatively affected by a range of problems; climate change, pollution, eutrophication, overfishing, acidification and sedimentation.
We all know the effects we have on the oceans and have seen some horrific photos and news stories over the years, from shipwrecks and spills to pollution, entanglements and the most recent being a pod of 10 sperm whales that died due to being beached in East Yorkshire in December, they became lost off our coast, more than likely looking for food.
Charities like BDMLR are 'unseen' but in the last year have attended to 1788 call outs, 94 porpoises, 36 whales and 1658 seals. Without organisations like BDMLR we would most certainly have lost these mammals from our oceans.
