Story
Centrepoint is the leading national charity working to give homeless young people a future. They work with 15,000 young people every year providing accommodation, raising aspirations and equipping them with the skills they need to thrive independently. Their work supporting vulnerable young people wouldn’t be possible without support from donators.
£15 could help provide a comfy bed and mattress and give
someone their first decent night’s sleep in months, or £12.50 could help Centrepoint answer a young person’s call to their Helpline,
investigate their issue and follow up with solutions to avoid
homelessness.
We at the University of Lincoln Gaming Society feel that homelessness is a huge issue in and around Lincoln and feel as if something needs to be done to combat it. As such, we have decided to run our first 24 hour charity event in the name of Centrepoint. As mentioned previously, just £15 could be used to provide a homeless person a comfy bed for a good nights rest.
Everyone pound and penny counts, especially this time of year when sleeping rough becomes evermore dangerous as temperatures drop well below freezing and the risk of death increases dramatically. Ultimately, we want to support ending homelessness for good and believe this to be an excellent first step towards this.
