We are My Name'5 Doddie Foundation and we're absolutely committed to our goal: A World Free of MND. We will leave no stone unturned in the relentless pursuit of this goal as we fund, guide and enable the smartest, most efficient MND research to catalyse a cure for motor neuron disease.

Story

Many thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Doddie Weir is one of rugby's most recognisable personalities. Capped by Scotland 61 times and earning a British and Irish Lion's call up in 1997 vs South Africa. Immortalised by the great Bill McLaren as being "on the charge like a mad giraffe".

Doddie is now facing his biggest challenge, having revealed in 2017 he was suffering from Motor Neuron Disease (MND). This, currently, is an incurable disease.

Despite this, his drive, passion and inspiration to help fellow sufferers seek ways to further research has tempted me to take on this small, in comparison, challenge of 58 kilometres (34.2 miles) along the beautiful trails of the Gower Peninsular. Please give anything you can, to help support this wonderful cause.

Many thanks,

Gareth
