Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday I will be cycling 54 miles in order to raise money on behalf of Megan and Rosie to donate to the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases.
These two amazing young women have both been helped immensely by the RNHRD, and would love to give back to this wonderful place. Megan suffers with Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome, Rosie has Chronic Widespread Pain. Both are debilitating conditions, and until the intervention of the amazing hospital, didn't feel there was anything that would help them to at least cope with these conditions.
Megan's condition had left her bed bound for weeks at a time, and reliant on using a wheelchair in order to get about. She went from being a normal, energetic teenager to suffering from this debilitating illness almost overnight. For years there didn't seem to be anything anyone could tell the family about the illness, or anything the could do to help.
Rosie became a young carer for Megan, giving her big sister all the love and support she could.
Megan was then referred to the RNHRD, they worked with her to help her rebuild strength, and learn to manage her pain. She is now free from her wheelchair and uses only one walking aid. Slowly but surely she is starting to regain her life!
Sadly as Megan has gone from strength to strength after treatment at the RNHRD, Rosie's health has begun to rapidly deteriorate. She is now a wheelchair user herself, and struggles to perform most tasks we take for granted. She is currently awaiting her 3 week inpatient stay at the hospital.
The money raised through this will be donated in Megan and Rosie's name. I wanted them to feel that they had something they could give back. Please help support them and donate so that others can have the same support in the future.
