Trek the Arctic · 9 December 2019

A team of up to 20 intrepid adventures are taking on the Kungsleden or Kings Trail in Sweden. 116km of Arctic Trekking through the wilderness in freezing cold temperatures.

Story

In March, I am joining a team of brave people to complete an epic adventure to trek across 118KM in the Arctic over 6 days to help raise funds for the Dougie Mac.

We’ll be travelling 250km north of the Arctic circle to start this tremendous challenge where we will carry all of the gear that we need on our backs (15kg) for the whole journey whilst facing temperatures as low as -15 degrees. We’ll be trekking around 15km-25km’s per day on cross country ski’s, which will take several hours. We’ll be stopping in very basic huts each night where we will have to cut through the ice to gather our water.

I’m paying the trip costs myself and so every penny you guys donate will go straight to the Dougie Mac to help provide care for people who are very unwell.

The Dougie Mac Hospice provides all hospice services free of charge to over 3,000 patients with life-limiting illnesses each year in the North Staffordshire area, also giving supportive care to their families and carers. We help people living with cancer and non-cancer life-limiting illnesses such as advanced heart failure, motor neurone disease and incurable lung diseases

Thanks in advance, Gaz x
