Story
As some of you will know, I sadly lost my Dad on Christmas Eve to Covid-19. He was admitted to Prince Charles Hospital on Friday 11th and just 13 days later, he left us. This cruel virus prevented me, my Mam, brother and sister from being with Dad during those last 13 days of his life.
We are all immensely grateful to the nurses and doctors at Prince Charles Hospital who tried to save Dad’s life and provided him with compassionate care when we were unable to do so.
The guilt and helplessness I felt during those 13 days remains with me. I need to do something positive in Dad’s name and try to show my appreciation to the people who cared for him in what must have been a lonely and terrifying time.
I’ve set myself the challenge of running 2021km in 2021 and I want to raise £2021 for Cwm Taf Morgannwg NHS General Charitable Fund.
I’ll be providing regular updates on my progress and hopefully participating in a number of organised races if/when we are allowed to do so.
