Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In July 2019, sadly a dear friend was taken from us at the young age of just 49. Tony Bradbury, or 'Shrek' as he was known to his friends, left behind a beautiful family and a group of friends who he never failed to entertain... The loss of Tony has left a huge hole in all our lives, so one night after a few to many pints of Guinness, we thought it would be a great idea to do something in his name which we could remember and talk about in fondness, as we do him, in the years to come.... Combined with a little fund raising for a worthy charity....

If I'm totally honest, that's where the 'great idea' part ended, as we decided to embark on a cycling challenge from our home village of Ibstock, Leicestershire, to Whitby, North Yorkshire. Many of us hadn't ridden a bike since we were 16, in fact most of us didn't even own a bike.....

Now, at this point the idea has not just become a little painful to my undercarriage, thanks to my razor like seat.... but also very painful to the wallet, as I have recently found out that cycling is not a poor mans sport....

Anyway, undeterred, but still slight sore... we are going for it.... So on Thursday 24th of June 2021... we set out on a 200 mile quest... I hope the pubs are open when we get there... and the supermarket... think I'm going to need a bag of frozen peas...  :(

Right, enough about me... and to a degree, Tony... Now I don't have to tell you about the amazing work done by the 'British Heart Foundation', who work tirelessly to rid the world of heart diseases helping millions in need of help and support.

I know the world has been difficult for most over the 18 month, however, I would kindly like to ask you to donate anything you can to support others that maybe, are not as fortunate as you or I...

Lastly, all I can say is thank you from the bottom of our hearts, I know what ever we can raise will help someone, somewhere.....

Thanks and stay safe x
