getting ready for the final push. 70 miles and then some recovery work ( beer and steak). anyone fancy sharing this page one more time? also if you " keep meaning to sponsor me" why not do it now? my phone makes the sound of a coin dropping into a money box with every donation, that's very motivating whilst riding!!

Updated on Sep 17th 2012 at 9:00 PM from the JustGiving APIAs I am now away working I won't ride my bike again until we set off on Thursday. If I'm not ready now I never will be. The amount I ate and drank this weekend probably won't have helped but still feeling confident! Please share this link and tell your non-facebook friends about it ( yes, there are people not on facebook)!

Completed 62 miles today. That included my first road side puncture repair and having to put up with Pete Hopgood moaning his way round Kent. Feeling more confident I'll be up to the distance now. Thanks to everyone who's sponsored me so far. Please share this page on facebook etc. and help me beat my target.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In September 2012 I am planning to cycle from London to Paris to raise money for The Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Trust at The Medway Maritime Hospital in Kent.
I have witnessed first hand the level of care and skill the Doctors and Nurses on the unit have in caring not only for sick and premature babies but also for the parents of these children who are going through the scariest and most upsetting set of experiences most of us could imagine.
The unit relies heavily on donations and the fundraising work of the Oliver Fisher Trust to ensure they can purchase the vital equipment needed to ensure they can continue to deliver the best possible care to the babies they are looking after
Therefore, in loving Memory of George Peter Pilcher, I am hoping to raise money that can be directly used to fund vital equipment that may literally save a babies life.
There are several companies that organise similar trips but after enquiring how they are run I discovered a large part of the money raised through sponsorship goes towards the costs of the trip and the Charity does not receive all of the money. Therefore I have organised the trip independently so that every single penny raised will go directly to the Oliver Fisher Trust.

So, without trivialising it, i thought what better way of raising some money than slipping into some skintight lycra and heading for the city of romance!
I'm currently in training as i thought the 6 mile trip to work wasn't really adequate preparation and have about eight weeks to get "match fit" as I set off on 20 September and should arrive in Paris on the 22nd. I'm up to 40 mile rides without too much pain so feel confident but once the first cash is commited I'll know there's no backing out so please help out if you can!
I'm going as part of a small group and once the route is finalised I'll update this page but it's a bit over 200 miles in three days.
