The 3 mile coracle challenge · 22 September 2013

Severn Hospice provides specialist care and emotional support for families in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales living with an incurable illness. All our care is provided for free, but it is not without cost - we have to raise £2 for every £3 we spend. It's because you care that we can.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year Morris Lubricants are trying to raise £10,000 by traversing the Severn Way in seven different ways for the Severn Hospice. Using my influence as chariman I instructed the organisers to ensure I was allocated one of the easier parts of the route. They told me I would be sailing the Coracle !!!

Not one to duck a challenge I accepted and in April I spent a weekend in Leintwardine, Herefordshire building my very own coracle. My challenge is to sail this zenith of water transport 3 miles down the river Severn. I will be attempting to do this on 22nd September from the Royal Hill public house in Shropshire.

There is no need to fear for my safety in this challenge as I have been promised a safety boat and some arm bands!
