Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The reason for this page is that in February 2011 I will be joining in with a party from Daisy Chain to raise as much money as possible by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa.  Kilimanjaro is the highest free-standing mountain in the world (meaning it’s not part of a mountain range such as the Himalayas) and is 19,341 feet high.  It takes a week to climb and many of you will have seen the film of the Comic Relief event last year, so will know it’s a real test of mind and body.

Daisy Chain is a charity based at Calf Fallow Farm in Norton providing a unique support for children with autism because they focus on the needs of the family, not just the child.  It offers services such as counselling and respite for parents and carers, activities, sensory support, play, educational and work opportunities for children with autism, clubs and recreational activities for siblings, trips and activities for whole families and has a day centre offering a range of drop in support facilities.  I recently visited the site and saw some of the brilliant work, which is funded through charitable donations and fundraising events such as this one.

Daisy Chain has major development plans in place to renovate the farmhouse building into a family centre, providing space for support services to families, e.g. counselling and also has plans to provide a 10-bed overnight respite facility.  The money raised from this trip will go towards these fantastic development plans.  And this is why your support is so important and why I hope you'll be able to dig deep and support me in this event.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please help and donate.

Thank you
