Gareth's Climb for Concern

Climb for Concern · 1 June 2020
After completing the ration challenge last year it was my intention to do something again this June. Finding myself with a bit more time on my hands I want to direct attention to the continuing work Concern do on the ground for 23 of the worlds poorest countries.
Income losses for people in developing countries as a result of Covid-19 are expected to exceed €202 billion. The more severe lockdown approaches in place in many Western countries are only possible if supported by social protection systems to protect families and individuals whose livelihoods have been disrupted. With an estimated 55% of the global population having no access to social protection, the impact of Covid-19 on their livelihoods and access to food will be catastrophic.
The next 7 days (1st - 7th June) will see me trek up to the Summit of Everest. Using my imagination and my staircase I will ascend to the dizzying height of 8848 metres. That’s 3540 flights of stairs or to put it another way 49549 steps.
Please support me with whatever you can, I know this is a challenging time for all but anything will be greatly received. Let’s continue to add our voices to positive action where ever we see it - thank you
