StarTrek Challenge · 2 March 2019 ·

Ilfracombe Rotary Club raises funds through donations from visitors to St Nicholas Chapel, operating a pop up shop each year for between one and two months and other fund raising events. This enables our Trust Fund to support worthy beneficiaries locally, nationally and internationally.

Story

Garry and Martin do StarTrek! A sixteen mile Exmoor trek in the dark to help the North Devon Hospice and the Children’s Hospital South West. Saturday 2 March 2019.

This year we’ve decided to forego our usual birthday week away in favour of something really worthwhile and challenging… and we’d really appreciate the support you can give in aid of the Children’s Hospital South West and the North Devon Hospice.

We’re doing this as it will genuinely help people in need – for a local community that’s become our home over the last few years.

Organised by the Rotary Club of Ilfracombe, we’re part of a team of six that’s going to trek a secret 16-mile route across Exmoor.

With only the stars, a compass a map and a few torches, we’ll be solving clues as we go – and hopefully finding our way to the finish line! We’ll have to battle the rough terrain and whatever weather throws at us.

Please help support the Children’s Hospice South West, a charity that provides hospice care for children with life-limiting conditions and their whole family. The North Devon Hospice provides specialist care and support to people who are affected by cancer, Motor Neurone Disease, Heart Failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other life-limiting illnesses.

Please help us raise some money! Your help and support would mean a lot to us.

Thank you. Much love.
