London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

IN 2023 I am planning to run the London Marathon in my full Fire Kit with breathing apparatus set on my back. I am extremely proud to be running the marathon for the Motor Neurone Disease Association who do amazing work with motor neurone disease. There is currently no cure for MND but there are treatments to help reduce the impact it has on a persons daily life which is why every penny donated and raised is vital in combatting the disease. The MND association also provide vital support to those affected as well as continuing to carry out research surround the disease. I hope the money raised can go some way to help the MND association continue with the amazing work they do.

Recently our family lost a beloved member in Wendy Esposito. Wendy was an extraordinary woman who had such a massive impact on the lives of everybody who was lucky enough to know her. I feel extremely proud to be able to run this event for her and for all the other brave people who have had their lives affected by Motor neurone disease.

I currently work for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and I am a firefighter on Green Watch , Moss Side. This is going to be my first ever Marathon so i thought what better way to undertake the challenge than by wearing my full fire kit and breathing apparatus set weighing in at over 20kg. What could possibly go wrong ..................?

I understand we are living in extremely tough times but any money you could spare to put towards a donation for this event would be greatly appreciated. I know the MND association will be extremely grateful.

Wish me luck !
