Story

As you may know I am competing in the Olympic distance London Triathlon in the UK on Sunday August 8th , 2010. This event , the largest of its kind in the world, attracts some 11,000 competitors over two days . For my part I have chosen the Olympic distance event on Sunday 8th August at the Exel Centre London . The event comprises a Triathlon over 3 disciplines , starting with a 1500 metre swim followed  by a 40 k bike ride through London  and culminating with a 10k run .

The completion of this event will be I trust the successful conclusion of hard work and training over the last 4 months . Hoping to achieve a finish is an incredibly valauble exerience for me as I have chooen to raise funds for the  Macmillan Cancer support charity in the Uk . The Macmillan support provides a range of services to help not only some of the 2 million people in the UK who have had a cancer diagnosis but also everyone their cancer has an impact on .

With deepest regret I lost my father to cancer in 2008 , a very proud and very honorable man to the end . It is for my father and for those like him who were cruelley taken by cancer . It is to the Macmillan cancer support that I owe so much and it is for them I am indebted for allowing me the opportunity to give back just a little of so much .

In honor of my father and for fathers and mothers and children in the Uk who have been touched by cancer I run for you -  in the hope that my contribution will help alleviate some of the pain you have to endure .
