Story

Sat thinking of what I can do to raise as much awareness and much needed money for research for The Brain Tumour Charity.

Many ideas (mostly crazy ones) have been in planning but one that i kept on bringing back to the front was a walk in the Snowdonia mountains, where i spent most of my teenage years in the Scouting association also most of them times along with my brothers, and this is where my idea now comes from , Firstly to rewind time and re-live a path i last completed maybe 15 years ago along side my Older brother Michael,

The 'Snowdon Horseshoe'  this is a challenge that isn't for the faint hearted which has sadly claimed the lives of people who have attempted this walk, the steep sloping sides of Crib Goch and its sheer cliffs make for impressive views across the North west and Wales but narrow paths and steep climbs also make this a very challenging path to complete, climbing to summits including Mt Snowdon the total length of this challenge is 12.17km and should allow 8 hours to complete.

Now obviously i would like as many people to take part as possible but within reason but more importantly be able to complete the challenge within a reasonable amount of time. This is where my second plan comes into play......

To make this event as successful as possible i have also decided to add onto the main challenge a smaller walk for anybody who would like to be involved but doesn't quite fancy the Horseshoe path, this would simply involve a walk directly up to the summit of Mt Snowdon using the Llanberis path which i believe to be the easiest way up Snowdon usually taking around 5-7 hours to complete, 9 Miles in total (up and back down) this is the most popular track up to the summit, Which importantly is family friendly, which this is what its all about, hopefully a plan for both routes to meet up for a group photo at the summit of Snowdon also if possible.

This is all obviously going to be weather depending but hopefully the date i have chosen should be ok and this will also the event will depend on any restrictions due to COVID.

This whole event is based on all the things my brother Michael has been through these past years and all the bravery shown whilst dealing with his Tumors, I might be able to climb mountains and do other crazy things to raise awareness and money but in my opinion nothing could even slightly compare to the physical and mental strains he has been through,

So my main target is to raise as much awareness as possible to help this charity to fund wherever needed to hopefully one day find a cure , so share this as much as physically possible to spread the word, and obviously i want to raise as much money as possible at the same time, this is a joint event one that people of all physical capabilities can take part in which route they feel comfortable completing.

Thank you for your time in reading my story.
