Leg waxing in the name of pain and cycling · 8 May 2017

Dementia Adventure thinks differently about dementia. We look at what people can do, not what they can’t. We offer supported holidays and dementia training so people with dementia can get outside, experience the wellbeing benefits of nature and enjoy more active and fulfilled lives.

Story

As part of the fundraising for my 370 mile ride to Paris for Dementia Adventure, I want to raise as much money as possible. It's a well know fact that cyclists generally have smooth legs and so in the interests of getting this fundraising well and truly moving, I'm aiming for £250, after which I'll go live on Facebook for a legwax and you can see some pain!

Sound like a deal? Great :)

Dementia Adventure is a multi-award winning charity with a simple mission: to enable people with dementia to get outdoors, connect with nature & retain a sense of adventure. Often a person with dementia finds that their life changes dramatically. They often feel that holidays, travel & outdoor activity are things that are no longer available to them. Yet there are huge benefits to keeping active & getting outdoors. DA specialises in supported holidays for people with dementia & their carers to enjoy together.
