Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On October 3rd 2021 I will be running the London Marathon on behalf of the Brathay Trust.

The iconic London marathon returns in 2021 after COVID caused 2020 to be cancelled. Without doubt, being part of the field in October will be both emotional and memorable for all who take part.

My main aim in running and hopefully completing the marathon is to raise much needed funds for the Brathay Trust.

Post pandemic, we need to promote young people’s right to accessible support and choice. Brathay delivers outreach and detached youth services enabling all young people to access appropriate support to help them reach their potential and make positive contributions to their community.

Brathay Trust is a youth charity with its head office and residential centre based at Brathay in Cumbria, England. Founded in 1946 by Francis C. Scott, the charity is based at the Brathay Hall and estate near the town of Ambleside. The organisation's main focus is on training and developing general skills for youth, including Lake District-based outdoor education and experiential learning, but also organises people and organisation development courses for adults.

At times when the mental health of all people (young and old) this is an incredibly invaluable facility and an extremely worthwhile cause.

Hopefully, having read my story and recognised the work that Brathay do, you will find it worthwhile enough to make a donation.

We work with a wide range of young people, often with fewer opportunities in life, including those managing the transition from living in care to independence, at risk of exploitation in unhealthy relationships, needing confidence to find work or training, or facing other challenges in their lives.
