Kilimanjaro Duo. Climbing Kilimanjaro and cycling 400km from Kilimanjaro to the coast. · 23 September 2022

Running Well provides people living in remote and deprived parts of Uganda with access to clean water. Without our help these communities would not get clean water. We are saving lives and helping to improve the standard of living, health and education for these forgotten communities.

Story

In a moment of madness I have signed up to raise money for
Running Well - Providing Communities in Uganda with Access to Clean Water (running-well.org)

At the end of September I plan to

* climb Kilimanjaro which is Africa's highest mountain at the 19,341 ft (5,895m) and

* cycle 250 miles (430km ) on a mountain bike along dirt tracks from Kilimanjaro  to the Tanzanian coast.

I have funded all of the trip costs myself . As a small charity with no overheads, Running Well can ensure 100% of your donations will be used for providing clean, safe drinking water in rural Uganda.

Where geological conditions allow, Running Well build their wells next to schools so that children can spend time in school rather than spending hours walking to the nearest wells which are often 2-3 miles distant  from their village or risking drinking the dirty and disease laden water from local water holes

Each well is around 80m deep and costs circa £8,000 to construct.
