Story
I'm going to be running the Endurance Life South Devon Coastal Marathon on Saturday 19th February 2010. It may be scenic, but it's 28 miles long, very hilly and the terrain is tough.
I'll be doing it with a very good friend of mine, Rod Baber whose baby daughter was recently taken seriously ill with a virus and has been cared for on the paediatric intensive care unit at the Royal Hospital for Children in Bristol.
As Rod explains: “Amalie is extremely poorly and will be in hospital for a long time. Her heart almost stopped, she has brain damage and a collapsed lung, but she is off the ventilator now and on the general paediatric ward. We have been through every emotion possible, but now, as well as looking after Amalie and our other three children, my partner Josie and I want to focus our energy on raising money in support of the hospital where Amalie is being so well cared for.”
I’d like to help Rod and Josie by doing my bit.
