Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In July 2020 a friend of mine, Dave Whittle, who was previously a very active man was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. I later became a carer for Dave and his family and I witnessed first hand how cruel this disease is. Sadly Dave died 19 months after his diagnosis, in March 2022.

Motor Neurone Disease is an uncommon condition that affects the brain and nerves. Messages from the motor neurones gradually stop reaching the muscles. This leads muscles to weaken, stiffen and waste. MND can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe and there is currently no cure for it.

I want to raise money for the Isle of Man MND Association to help those on the Island to help them provide the best possible support to local people with MND, their families and carers.

Therefore I will be doing the Parish Walk and am hoping to go as far as I can for this great cause.

Thank you all for any donations you feel able to make!
