CARE Laos to Cambodia Cycle Challenge · 3 November 2016

CARE International is a humanitarian organisation leading the fight to end poverty in the world’s most challenging situations. Women and girls are at the centre of our work, because we cannot overcome poverty until all people have equal rights and opportunities.

Story

In February 2015 I cycled 460km through Vietnam and Cambodia (with 10 other intrepid cyclists) to support the work of CARE International. It was such an incredible experience that I'm going to be returning to South East Asia in November 2016 - this time to cycle 650km through Laos and Cambodia.

On the previous challenge we were able to visit projects, speak to people, and see first hand the real impact that CARE has in helping individuals work their way out of poverty.

The earthquakes in Nepal in April and May 2015, and more recently in Ecuador, were also a reminder of another aspect of their work, providing immediate assistance to communities when disasters occur.

I'm lucky enough to be able to self-fund this trip, so 100% of every donation will go directly to CARE International UK.
