My name is Gary Power and I am attempting to swim across Lake Geneva from Lausanne in Switzerland back to Evian in France on the 16th July. It is just over 14km in total and by a distance the hardest thing i have ever attempted.

Why?? I want to raise awareness and protect our national sports for future generations. This is so they continue to enjoy and develop themselves much as I did as a child, an adult player, now coach and most importantly as a parent. In difficult times for society sport always find itself in a place of increased importance and it is no different now.

Myself and Alix are the same age and his situation has hugely resonated with me and something I feel I can provide some much needed exposure, education and hopefully some fundraising through my own personal and professional network.

Please take 5 minutes to visit the website, learn a bit more of what the charity is trying to achieve and if appropriate send a few quid over!

Many thanks, Gary
