Story
On 25th April 2027, I’ll be taking on the TCS London Marathon in memory of someone who meant the world to me—my Nana.
Watching someone you love slowly lose their memories, their independence, and, in many ways, themselves, is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Alzheimer’s is a cruel illness. It doesn’t just affect the person living with dementia; it changes the lives of every family member who walks alongside them.
My Nana was an incredible woman, and I’ll always cherish the memories we made together. Although Alzheimer’s took so much from her, it will never take away the love, kindness, and strength she gave to our family. Running this marathon is my way of honouring her life and ensuring her memory lives on.
I’ve chosen to support Alzheimer's Research UK because they provide vital support to people living with dementia and the families who face this heartbreaking journey every day. Every donation helps fund life-changing services, advice, and research that brings hope for the future.
The London Marathon will be one of the biggest physical and mental challenges I’ve ever taken on, but it pales in comparison to the challenges faced by those living with dementia.
If you’re able to support me, no matter how big or small the donation, I would be incredibly grateful. If you can’t donate, sharing my page would mean just as much.
Thank you for helping me honour my Nana’s memory and supporting everyone affected by dementia.
This marathon is for you, Nana. Every step, every mile, every finish line. ❤️
