Ride Across Britain 2022 · 10 September 2022 to 18 September 2022 ·

Mental Health UK is here for anyone experiencing a mental health problem. We are made up of four organisations based in each of the four nations of the UK, working together to improve mental health.

Story

As I recently turned 50 I thought I needed a challenge and this time wanted to raise funds for Mental Health UK - a charity and a cause that is close to my heart with a number of friends recently losing their sons through mental health, as well as it impacting my own family. COVID has certainly increased awareness - but more needs to be done to support the likes of Mental Health UK.

I'm actually going to be doing a number of challenges throughout 2022, culminating in cycling 980 miles from Lands End to John O Groats with my cousin and friend Simon Waldock in September 2022. Averaging over 100 miles a day over 9 days will quite rightly take me out of my comfort zone - but excites me at the same time.

I'll keep you all updated on how I'm getting on over the year as I build towards LEJOG, with warm up rides including the Cheshire Cat, Fred Whitton (going back to conquer next year) and the Cyclone.

I'd be so grateful for your support.

It's only thanks to support from people like you that Mental Health UK can help people with mental health problems to have a better life. Every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thank you, Gary x
