Great North Run 2021 · 12 September 2021 ·
For the past 7 years my family has had to face the grim reality that many others also have to deal with: cancer. Nearly everybody has been affected by this disease in some way or another, and we have been no exception.
In April 2014 my Mam was diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer called Mesothelioma at the age of 55. Unfortunately there is no cure but due to ongoing research and trials my Mam has recently been offered immunotherapy treatment which we hope will manage Mesothelioma like a chronic disease.
I have therefore decided to run the Great North Run this year to raise money for the British Lung Foundation so they can continue doing more research and hopefully one day find a cure for this terrible disease.
Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
