In July 2016 -after over 3 yrs of blood tests, MRI scans ,and 2 biopsies -I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer
I was told I didn't have to do anything for 3 to 5 yrs -if I could live with the symptoms and the mental strain of it -I thought I could but I couldn't -So on 1/8/17 -I underwent surgery for a Prostatectomy
I now want to raise awareness and give something back -and rather than just ask people to donate -I want to do something -something that is worthy of a good donation -so I decided to take part in Grand Depart Classic which is organised by PROSTATE CANCER UK
I asked if anyone would like to join me -and my very good friend -Richard Hirst who has given me tremendous support throughout said "yes I'm in -we are doing this together "
( Anyone can still join us ??)
So on 23 rd June ,both Richard and I will be taking part in the "Grand Depart Classic " which is basically the1st stage of the 2018 Tour De France -a week before the pro's! and consists of 120 mile ride down the Atlantic coast road of France
We have joined together on this page to raise funds -All donations will be very much appreciated -no matter how small -please help Richard and I to raise as much as possible
for this fantastic organisation -:
PROSTATE CANCER UK -which will help them continue the fantastic work they do in helping people like myself and others and their families , as Prostate Cancer is the biggest killer amongst UK men -so with a little help from us all , maybe one day we can change that
Thanks in advance Gary and Richard.
