Cambridge Half Marathon 2016 · 28 February 2016 ·
Welcome to my fundraising page for the:
CAMBRIDGE HALF MARATHON 2016.
--------------------
Who am I and what am I doing?
I am Gary Edgerton, I work at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge and I have decided to take the opportunity of my Cambridge Half Marathon entry to raise money for two Cambridgeshire based charities, The Fitzwilliam Museum [The Fitzwilliam JustGiving Page] and the East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) on this JustGiving page.

The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge celebrates its 200th birthday in 2016 and the first major exhibition of this special year is Death on the Nile.

This exhibition goes beyond the images of mummies, pharaohs and mystery often associated with ancient Egypt. It shows how coffin design developed over 4,000 years, reflecting significant changes both in the status of affluent ancient Egyptians and in the gods that were important to them.
This exhibition opens on Tuesday 23 February 2016 and the first Sunday of this exhibition is the same day as the Cambridge Half Marathon on Sunday 28 February 2016.

This is the reason why I have chosen to:

My chosen charity - EACH.
There are so many good causes to choose from, so why choose the East Anglian Children's Hospice (EACH)?
While working at the Fitzwilliam Museum, I have become aware that EACH have come to the aid of some of my Museum colleagues and their families to provide valuable help and support during unpleasant life changing times.
So I don't mind looking a little foolish when I RUN LIKE AN EGYPTIAN on the Cambridge Half Marathon. I hope to provide EACH with whatever I can raise on this page for today's and tomorrows families who request from EACH support services such as Diagnosis, End of Life and Bereavement Care.
