On 12th June 2020 I lost my Dad  Michael ‘Mike’ Bennett from Motor Neurone Disease after being diagnosed only 2 1/2 years prior. 

We witnessed the terrible physical and mental impact the disease had on him, from being very active and a huge part of our family life to gradually losing complete mobility and lung function.

Dad always supported our sport endeavours from childhood and we enjoyed watching the London Marathon on the TV wondering what it would be like to take part. 

Dad will be with me every step of training and every one of the 26.2miles of the Marathon.

I’m sure I will suffer during the experience but know deep down it won’t be anything like the physical pain and mental suffering my dad endured!

I hope by raising funds for MNDA it will help others diagnosed, their families and scientists who can ultimately find a cure.
