Story
During July six brave (or foolish) people from the Gateley Leeds office will be taking on the Yorkshire 3 peaks with a twist as part of our fundraising for Candlelighters.
The 26 mile route takes in the mountains of Ingleborough (723m or 2,372ft), Whernside (736m or 2,415ft) and Pen-y-ghent (694m or 2,277ft) and traditionally the challenge is to do it in under 12 hours on a sunny day in early summer. Not content with either tradition or making it easy, we have decided to up the stakes and attempt it overnight.
The team will travel by train from Leeds to Horton and start walking between 6 and 7pm. 12 hours later the train leaves Horton for Leeds to get everyone back in the office for 9am. If the train goes without us, we have failed the challenge!
The Gateley team are Rob Payne, Emma Taylor, Ashley Neville, Nicholas Attwooll, Alexandra Bartlett and Phil Smith.
Candlelighters support children and their families diagnosed with cancer in Yorkshire. Their projects and support comes in a huge number of forms but always with the aim of helping ordinary families who are facing extraordinary circumstances. We would be very grateful for any sponsorship you feel able to offer. Thank you.
