Gaumaya's Vision Aid Overseas Assignment in Ethiopia

. · 28 July 2017
First and foremost, massive thank you to my dear supporters who have suprised and showered me with their generousity since my very first volunteering assignment.
This June, we were a team of 7 and we managed to test over 500 villagers and students. Our team leader Lee successfully conducted first ever low vision aid training to the optometrists and opthalmic nurses in Zambia.
With this amazing finish, I am so happy to share with you that I will be leading a team in Ethiopia this November. We are a team of 5, we will be working closely with GTM. GTM stands for Grarbet Tehadiso Mahber, which is a charity in Ethiopia. We will be conducting eye tests in vision centres in Butajira and Batu.
As little as £5 covers for an eyetest and spectacles.
If you are a spectacle wearer, you would know what a world of difference a pair of glasses can make.
Yet 640 million people worldwide can't see properly simply because they need glasses.
Vision Aid Overseas's aims is to enable people living in poverty to access affordable glasses and eye care.
The vision is "No one lives in poverty because of poor eyesight; no one lives with poor eyesight because of poverty.".
You can help end this vicious cycle by supporting VAO's work
I hope you donate, heartily.
Thank you.
