Please read on for my story:
On 8th January 2016 my father - Alan Partridge - suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. Several emergency services fought an hour long battle to resuscitate him. Part of this resuscitation effort was Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.
After an hour, the resuscitation attempt was successful and my father was flown to University Hospital, Coventry. Despite the best efforts of all the emergency services and hospital staff, sadly my father passed away on 14th January 2016.
Through this tragic turn of events, we - my fathers family - Have been determined that something positive should come out of my fathers passing.
We thought that one good thing that could come out of all this would be to raise some much needed money for the air ambulance service that fought so hard to save him.
The air ambulance is a voluntary service working 7 days a week, 365 days a year, without any government or NHS funds. They rely solely on generous donations from members of the public to enable them to continue their vital, lifesaving work.
The WNAA fly's around 1000 missions a year, with each mission costing around £1700! Everything from the helicopter itself down to pressure pads for wounds has to be paid for by charitable donations.
£5 would pay for pressure pads for bleeding wounds. £10 would pay for fuel to fly 11 miles to the nearest hospital center. £20 would pay for essential pads with a defibrillator when a patent suffers cardiac arrest.
So from Sunday 28th March until Friday 2nd April 2021 (Good Friday) we will be raising money for the WNAA. This week of fundraising will climax with Gav and Sav livestream on Friday 2nd April at 10:10pm - Where for the first time ever Gavin (GavsWeatherVids) and Sahvi (The Furry One) will livestream together on the GavsWeatherVids YouTube channel!
We'll see you all there hopefully!!! ;)
