As EMEA Head of Communications, Gavin does the quick-step with journalists all day long, but can she Tango her way out of her dancing commitment to The Place2Be?

Gavin will be competing in the annual Credit Suisse fundraiser "Strictly Karaoke" in aid of Place2Be, Credit Suisse's UK Charity of the Year 2009. This extravaganza will take place on Thursday, October 15th, but before then she needs your support. Her tango lessons will only take her so far - Gavin needs to raise as much money as possible to gain valuable points, which will go towards her final score on the night, to help her win the title of Ballroom Champion!

This event is the biggest fundraising event of the year for our UK Charity of the Year, so your support is more important than ever. The Place2Be works inside primary schools, offering accessible counselling and drop-in services that help children and their families to cope and resolve their problems before they spiral out of control. Children today have all sorts of worries from friendships to domestic violence, gang culture and crime. As part of the Credit Suisse programme, Place2Be will be able to establish a permanent presence in Tower Hamlets and two other deprived London Boroughs, helping them to support over 80,000 children a year across the UK by 2010.

Gavin is dancing with Oleg Storozhuk, who is a graduate of The Kharkov State Academy of Culture in Ukraine where he studied Ballroom and Latin Choreography and Dance Directing. His competition achievements include a 1997 Bronze medal in Championship of Russia, 1999-2001 Absolute Champion of Ukraine, 2005 5th place in the Ukraine Championship of Ukrainian Sport Dance Federation, 2008 1/2 of British Close Ranking Championship. He continues to compete in International Ballroom competitions. Oleg is very patient with Gavin's attempts to Tango!
