Walk Together 2019
Campaign by Bowel Cancer UK (RCN 1071038)
Walk Together is our five mile sponsored walk to bring people together so that they can show their support for those undergoing treatment, remember loved ones we have lost and help stop bowel cancer. Its for people of all ages and abilities.

Story

My name is Gay Hutchings Clegg, I am 71 years old and I am a professional artist.

I was diagnosed with bowel cancer in December 2018 and had surgery in January 2019 when 2 large tumours were removed.  After thorough discussions with my oncologist I decided not to have chemotherapy.  Since then I feel very well, back to my old self.  I play tennis, practise yoga and pilates and lead an active and happy life.  I have recently had a six-month check up and all is well.  I would like to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK in order to help other people who have similar stories.  I thank my surgeon, oncologist and all the nursing team at Colchester General Hospital whose care and dedication were absolutely brilliant.

I'm taking in part in Walk Together 2019 to support Bowel Cancer UK. All the money raised will help stop people dying of bowel cancer by funding vital services and lifesaving research. Thank you for your support
