The Eden Project’s mission is to demonstrate and inspire positive action for the planet. We respect the natural world and demonstrate that people are part of ‒ not apart from ‒ nature. We protect wild places and enable them to thrive. We repair damaged spaces that need to be fixed.
Story
Dear all,
Having miserably failed in my attempt to get ready for the Eden Half Marathon on Sunday, I have decided it is not to be. Despite my colleagues' best efforts to get me running a rehearsal ten miles at the weekend, my body told me it couldn’t run five miles, let alone thirteen.
So with massive thanks for all your support and huge apologies, I shan’t be running next Sunday, 9th October. I will be there however to pay bigger than ever respects to those that have more discipline and fitness than me.
“Hero of the Moment”, Jonathan Sharp, of Ward Williams Associates – who are working with us on the canopy walkway we are hoping to put into the Rainforest Biome – has stepped into the breach and said he will take my place in the Marathon. To those of you who have donated thank you so much for supporting the Eden Project, we would be delighted to be able to continue to use your donation in support of our rainforest projects. Please do however let us know if you would like to have your generous donation returned. We will do nothing unless we hear from you.
Many apologies and thank you for your understanding!
