Story
Hi Everyone as some of you will already know my son Jack who is 14 now has become a Diabetic. This was diagnosed on 16th April 2012. Jack now tests his blood and injects himself with insulin between 4 & 8 times a day before he can eat, this includes snacks etc. Jack returned to school after only 5 day. Amazing is how I would describe my son! totally blown away with how he is dealing with it all, totally life changing like you would probably not believe.
I cannot tell you all how heartbreaking this news was and to watch your child, your baby carry this out has hurt us beyond belief. It is nothing that we or he has done wrong and is nothing whatsoever to do with his diet, as many people have the misconception to believe.
We still have Jack and that could have been such a different story.Myself, Jack and Jim his dad are doing a 4 mile walk (not far to some I know) to raise funds for Diabetes UK, a fantastic charity that supports all diabetics
The monies raised will go towards trying to find a cure for this awful condition, that I hope Jack will have the opportunity to have in the future.
So thats basically what I am asking of my friends old and new to donate to this fantastic charity no matter how much you can spare, every penny counts and help us to help our Jack and 1000's of others who deal with what he has to deal with every day.
