Girton is a constituent College of the University of Cambridge. It fundraises to provide bursaries and grants to its students and subsidise research, teaching and improve its facilities.

Story

*UPDATE* A generous group of alumni has pledged to donate £4000 to this boat, but we still need another £1000 or so to reach our total- thanks to all who have supported so far!

Thanks for taking the time to visit GCBC's JustGiving page.

At present the club is thriving and had a successful campaign in the Lent term bumps races.  We had three women and two male rowers representing Cambridge University this year.

Our aim this year is to purchase a new VIII for the women’s side of GCBC, since the last new (secondhand) boat purchased for the women, the Jane Marks, was bought in 2003.

The cost of a new boat including cox box and oars, is around £20,000.  The College (thanks to GCBC's endowed funds) now can match all gifts (up to £10,000) for the new boat at 1:1, so please give whatever you can as it will be doubled!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.  Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the GCBC and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - GCBC raises more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.  The boat club is dependent on fundraising for new equipment, and dependent on subscriptions for its other running costs.

So please help us to ensure Girton rowing continues to thrive and donate now.  Thanks for your support.
