Story
March is endometriosis awareness/action month and I have spontaneously
decided to take part in the 1 in 10 challenge to raise money for the charity.
I will be running 10k each week for four weeks (albeit in
2k, 4k and 5k bursts - I'm not good enough to do it in one!)
I was diagnosed with endometriosis in October 2021 after
many years of misdiagnoses and being told it was likely work/university stress,
relationship problems or the way I was sitting at my desk.
As relieved as I was to be diagnosed, I am still learning to
live with endometriosis and manage my pain.
It effects every 1 in 10 women and takes a disgustingly long
time to get diagnosed. So by raising money it will help;
- Keep support groups going
- Train helpline volunteers
- Increase online support services
- Provide high quality and reliable information
(including treatment options) - Will continue to raise awareness which in turn
should help increase research into the illness and reduce the time it takes to
get women diagnosed
Please donate if you can and follow along to see me struggle
through 10k each week!
I’m doing this for Shiv, my undiagnosed friends...and for me.
