24 Peak Challenge · 21 August 2015

Supporting the needs and interests of children and adults with learning disabilities, as well as those of their parents and carers, in the south east of Essex. We stimulate local action where existing provision is insufficient and advocate for everyone with a learning disability.

Story

After completing the AlphaFemale100 100-day fitness challenge in 2014, I wanted to set myself another challenge. 24 Peak Challenge is both mentally and physically challenging with trekking up and down 24 peaks in the Lake District in just 24 timed hours.

I am doing this to raise money for a charity very close to my heart - Southend Mencap. Southend Mencap's aim is to serve the interests and needs of children and adults with learning diabilities, as well as those of their parents and carers in the south east of Essex. Southend Mencap is an independent society and are self governed and self financed.

With the help of your donation, Southend Mencap can continue to provide fantastic services and support to those who need it most. The money I raise is specifically going towards Southend Mencaps SMASH adults sports club which I work for on a Saturday. This will help us buy more equipment and do new activities with members of the club.
