Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I enjoyed my trip to Kenya in 2010 so much that this time I'm going back as a leader! When in Kenya I thought that the work KOP was doing was invaluable and I fell head over heals in love with the place, the culture and most importantly the people. This means I need your help again! I need to raise £800 before I travel next June, so all your donations would be greatly appreciated!
The Kenyan Orphan Project was started in 2001 by 3 medical students with the vision to fight against poverty, disease, social exclusion and injustice and to help improve the lives of orphans and vulnerable children in Kenya. Since then more than 650 students from different UK medical schools have been helping to support KOP projects. KOP also works hard to link project work with global child health education and experience for UK students and volunteers.
KOP aims to commit to sustainable projects that will continue to assist local people for the long term and not just provide temporary relief. With our involvement in a number of different activities across all aspects of life, we also aim to improve communities as a whole and not just in one area of development. Central to all KOP activity are orphans and vulnerable children (OVC’s). Our priority is always the improvement of the education, health, nutrition and social welfare of children. We see a healthy diet and a basic education as fundamental to the path from poverty and despair for so many OVC’s in this part of Kenya.
For more information about KOP itself please visit www.kopafrica.org, where you will find more pictures, videos and details of the projects. Or, if you want to ask me personally anything about the project please feel free to email me, facebook me or call me!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. Anything you can give will be brilliant!!!
