Story

My dad fought cancer twice. The first time round he was given two years to live. He lived 14 more but he suffered the long term effects of the disease every single day. He died September 12th 2015 aged 61 surrounded by his family.

My dad didn’t just fight a battle with cancer. He fought a war. Watching someone you love deteriorate slowly and see the quality in their life decline is an awful thing for any family or person to go through. I believe eventually we can find a cure to this terrible disease. It might not be in my lifetime or the next, but if we can help future generations that would be amazing.

I’m running the Bath half marathon for Cancer Research UK in honour of my father Peter Cowtan. Always in our hearts 💜
