VSO ICS** · 31 January 2020 to 31 December 2020 ·
I am delighted and terrified to confirm that on Sunday 12th of June I will be travelling to Ifelodun, Kwara, Nigeria on a 12-week volunteer placement with VSO ICS.
My placement will involve living and working in the local community, focusing on education projects. The team will consist of both UK and local volunteers working together to make a real impact in the community.
I have set up this page to help reach my fundraising target of £800. Crucially, NONE of the money I raise will go toward the cost of my own trip. Instead, I intend to raise awareness of the work that VSO ICS does, relate my experience and raise money for the organisation to continue the work it does with various charities, research new projects and continue to send volunteers abroad.
I plan to blog about my whole experience, from being accepted into the programme, through my fundraising journey, my time abroad and the work I will do in my own community when I return.
I'll be organising various events over the next months before I embark on my adventure, so will update this page with information about what I'm doing, when and where and will also update on social media.
Thank you for supporting my cause.
